About Us
It seems Lofty Pearls started long before its founder realized what was happening. While she was still in elementary school, founder Joyce's journey began. During that time her Aunt Elsina started to pass on the knowledge she had gained from years of experience working in New York’s fashion district onto Joyce. Of course neither Aunt Elsina nor her protégé knew what was really taking place. It first started with the benefits milk baths, honey and certain creams had on the skin. Elsina had little to no money, but she used her creativity to develop her own bathing alternatives. Consequently, her insight didn't stop there.
She started showing her protégé what the word quality really meant. This included turning every garment inside out and inspecting the seams and stitching. The softness and drape of the fabric was also of great discussion. Keep in mind she was really into fashion. It was not just physical characteristics of the fabrics that mattered. The colors and patterns had to be pleasing not just to your eyes, but to the core of your inner soul. Something as simple as a handkerchief had a reason for its look and feel. EVERYONE who knew Elsina would agree she felt she deserved to be treated like a queen and wanted only the best. This desire of hers stretched its way into service, manners, and high expectations and Joyce would come to embrace the love of this knowledge.
Life journey took Joyce through 28 years of extensive learning experiences in quality and manufacturing management in Corporate America. It's amazing how the diverse skills blended together to form the creativity flowing from Lofty Pearls.
Aunt Elsina left before the birth of Lofty Pearls. She would have smiled....you see....Lofty Pearls means stretching to reach something hidden, unique and beautiful. She taught Joyce to stretch and she emphasized that everyone is royal. Like pearls each of us is unique and beautiful.
